Dancing for the Mind
Dr. Lina Kaplan, Dance Psychologist, says that dance is the opportunity to tap into our most powerful emotions to express creativity and to feel truly alive. She also says that dance can be a bridge between the psyche and the body as well as the conscious and unconscious mind. Most of us think of physical exercise and personal enjoyment when considering the positive effects of dancing. However, as Dr. Kaplan pointed out, dancing with a partner - especially our romantic partner, can be a generative tool for deepening and expanding our sense of self.
